Andy's Sundries, c. 1957
Proprietors Alvin and Phyllis Andrews stand behind the jewelry counter at their store located in the Post Office Arcade Building. Photo published in The Stuart News (Thu, Sep 01, 1955 ·Page 2) identify their store's name as Andy's Drug Store and Luncheonette but the store was later referred to as Andy's Sundries from 1958 until the store closed in the late 1960s. -

Portrait of Anna Underwood Viles taken at the Bay Tree Lodge in Sewall's Point. Bay Tree Lodge was built by James Viles (Anna's husband), an industrialist from Chicago as a winter home for the couple. After the death of her husband in 1919, Anna no longer wanted the home, and it was subsequently sold in 1923.Tags Umbrellas -

Published in Sandra Thurlow's book, US Life-saving Service, with the caption: "Annie Stewart Quarterman stands in front of US Coast Guard Station No. 204, the former Chester Shoal House of Refuge, where Quartermans served through the years. She exemplifies the intertwining of pioneer families who served at houses of refuge/Coast Guard stations and the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse. Her Houston relatives were house of refuge keepers, and her husband's grandfather was keeper of the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse.
