  • Portrait of Fred Walton. Frederick James Walton (1907-1987) graduated from Stuart High School in 1928, a star athlete. In 1936 he became a patrolman in the City of Stuart and in January 1940 became the Chief of Police. After taking a leave of absence from the position for the summer and fall of 1941, he was replaced in December. He was the Stuart Fire Chief from November 1942 to May 1943 when he asked for a leave of absence. From 1960 to 1970 he was the superintendent of the city water department. Fred and Rose Kremer Roebuck Walton (1920-2007) married on 10 Sept 1939 and they had four children.

  • The Rob Roy Hotel in Stuart.
  • Cars line Highway US 1, near the Rob Roy Hotel. This building was originally the Roebuck Building, built in 1927 on U.S. 1 near Frazier Creek, by Robert R. Roebuck, housing the Rob Roy Hotel and the Economy Grocery. It was sold to William Rice in November 1945, remodeled, and reopened as the Rice's Hotel & Restaurant.
  • Robert Roy Roebuck Jr. poses with two dogs outside the Virginia Apartments in Stuart. Campaign for governor signs hang on the building and endorse Francis P. Whitehair. Whitehair ran for governor of Florida in 1940 but lost the race to Spessard L. Holland.
  • Two portraits combined. Large portrait of Rose Ellen Kremer Roebuck standing in an interior living space. Smaller portrait of Rose Ellen and Robert Roy Roebuck, who married in 1914. Robert Roebuck developed several buildings in Stuart during the 1920s, including the Virginia Apartments and Rob Roy Hotel. The couple tragically died in a train accident in 1943.
