In 1902, Flagler merged the Cordova Hotel with his Alcazar Hotel via a bridge and renamed it the Alcazar Annex. After the Great Depression, the Alcazar Annex was in disrepair and sat empty for 30 years until it was renovated to become the St. John's County Courthouse in 1968. Richard Kessler purchased the property in the 1990s and after renovations turned it back into a hotel, becoming the Casa Monica Resort & Spa still in business today.</text>
