Walter Kitching (1846–1932), who opened a general store in downtown Stuart in 1897, after a long career as a merchant, traveling the coast of Florida in the Merchant
Broster Kitching (1838–1915) settled in Sebastian, Florida in 1885, and later moved to Stuart (then called Potsdam) where his brother Walter lived. He was postmaster from 1894 to 1913, and lived with his sister Susanna in a house behind the post office. -

A young man and young woman stand with a boy near a waterway with palm trees all around them. All three hold their hats in their hands. Information handwritten on back identifies them as Amanda Stypmann Hancock (1878-1933), Robert Davis (her son), and Sampson Samuel Hancock (1875-1934). -
