    The Palm Beach County Land Company ran advertisements in the Palm Beach newspapers, offering a free New Years dinner to those interested in buying land at $50 per acre in Palm City (Palm City Farms at the time). As seen in the photograph, many people took advantage of the offer and made the trip from West Palm to partake in the picnic dinner and set eyes on the land up for purchase at Palm City Farms.
