Building from Camp Murphy being moved by the Leonard Bros. Transfer Co. (Leonard Brothers Transfer Company), purchased at Camp Murphy auction by Roy Luckhardt and relocated to the Casa Terrace subdivision in Stuart about 1947. The photo was taken at the Luckhardt's Casa Terrace property.
Henry Newton Gaines (1858-1928) arrived in Stuart from Kansas in 1912. After convincing a Kansas friend, J.R. Greenless, to buy about 5,000 acres to be developed as Tropical Farms, Gaines built a model farm and sold lots. He was the first chairman of the Board of County Commissioners (1925).
