Walter Kitching Company store on Flagler Avenue became Kitching & Eckess in 1921. Note that the Peacock Arcade, built in 1926, was not yet in existence.
The interior of Cromer's Market, which features a meat counter and many signs for products available. Cromer's Market was located first in the Minschke Building on Flagler Avenue (1935-1940) and later moved to Pressel Building (1940-1952). Two men, manager Jim Brock (left) and assistant John N. Mann. Brock worked at the market until 1941, and returned from service in WWII to became a charter boat captain and Martin County surveyor.
