  • Dr. Jimmy Farthing Henry (1921–1981) practiced medicine in Stuart beginning in 1950, when he joined Dr. Parker as an assistant, and continued until 1959. Deeply involved in civic life, he served as president of the Jaycees, a Stuart city commissioner, and briefly as mayor in 1956. He resigned from the commission upon moving to Palm City, as he was no longer eligible to serve while living outside the city limits. In 1959, Dr. Henry left the area to pursue advanced study in cardiology at the University of Florida, later joining the faculty at the University’s medical school, where he both practiced and taught.
