In Southern Florida Purchasing Crop, c. 1910
Men harvesting oranges.
Caption on back: Purchasing Crop. One of the leading crops of Florida is the orange, although it has been subject to great changes. In 1894, 1895 and 1899 many millions of trees were frozen, and the crop diminished from 5,000,000 boxes a year to 75,000, but it is now well on the increase. Merchants usually buy the fruit in bulk, or by the thousand, while it is still on the tree."
