                <text>The S. S. Florida, a steamship, operated by the Peninsular &amp; Occidental Steamship Company (P.&amp; O.). &#13;

The ship was built in 1931 and served as a steam liner from Florida to Havana, Cuba. It was used by the military during World War II and after the war it was converted into a cruise liner that ran from Miami to Havana during the 1950s. Around 1959, During the height of the Cuban Revolution, the S.S. Florida's route was reassigned from Miami to Nassau, Bahamas. The cruise ship was retired from service in 1966 but then served as a hotel ship called the La Palais Flotant for the 1967 World's Fair in Montreal, Canada. After the World's Fair it was broken down and used for parts.</text>

                  <text>An attempt has been made to add a date to the postcards, however, it must be remembered that the original photograph may have been taken well before the first postcard was made from it. Also, postcards are often published by multiple publishers at different times. Many early 20th century postcards were made by Curt Teich Company, but with another company's name printed on them as "publisher." Some of these also credit the Teich Company, but some don't. For instance, the H. &amp; W.B. Drew Co. (Jacksonville, Fla.) does not mention Teich, but each postcard features the Teich production number (available online at https://torontopostcardclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/Teich-Postcard-Dating-Guide.pdf)</text>
