Line of cars for House of Refuge Museum opening, 1956
According to the Stuart News (19 Jan 1956), a long line of traffic filled the Hutchinson Island road leading to the House of Refuge for the museum's opening day, held on January 15, 1956. Over 2,000 people attended the public opening of the museum.
