Wehle Groves, 1951
Transporting fruit crates at Wehle Groves near the North Fork of the St. Lucie River in Stuart. Formerly the Mel Bar Farms, Louis A. Wehle, chairman of the board for Genesee Brewing Co. in Rochester, N. Y., purchased the 288 acre farm around 1951. John Woggon managed the groves, which included orange, grapefruit, mango and tangerine fruit trees.
