  • Harvey Seymour Gideon (1898-1964) opened Gideon's Camp in 1930, a tourist camp. In 1936, he transformed his service station to a dance hall called Seymour's Inn (Conchy Joe's in 2024). He also played harmonica with Seymour Gideon's String Band. He also served as a Martin County Commissioner (1950-1960) and was married to Lucy Pitchford Gideon.
