Cooking school at Civic Center, 1951
Large audience of mostly women. Exhibit of empty refrigerators along back wall with sign for Hall's Electric Service. Published in the Stuart News (15 Nov 1951) with the caption: "The highly popular cooking school, officially dubbed 'the electric appliance exposition and cooking demonstrations,' will be presented again in Stuart Nov. 28 and 29, the sponsoring Florida Power and Light Company here announce this week. The school will be held at Stuart Civic Center from 3-4:30pm on Nov. 28 and 3-4:30pm on Nov. 29. Mrs. Lottie Pierce and Mrs. Jeannie Farrell, both of the West Palm Beach FP&L office, will be in charge. Six local appliance dealers will display their wares. There will be no admission charges, all food that the two leaders prepare will be given away and there will be a series of door prizes, it was announced. Refrigerators and televisions on display at Stuart Hardware, 1954
Several refrigerators (with one priced at $469.95) and two televisions (priced at $299.95 and $349.95) on display for sale at the Stuart Hardware Store. There are large Kelvinator brand signs on display as well. A hand-painted sign attached to one of the refrigerators reads " Save $140.00 on THIS Box During Hardware Week Only." -

Shelves and displays at Stuart Hardware Store. Many pots, pans, electric fans, etc. in view. A few signs advertise merchandise promotions or give aways for National Hardware week in April. The hardware week promotions gave shoppers the chance to bid on a Kelvinator refrigerator.
