He was accompanied by State Department officials on his visit here Saturday." Both a cocktail and a dinner party were held at the Outrigger Restaurant & Resort in honor of the prince. Prince Tupouto'a Tungi, heir to Polynesian kingdom of Tonga, traveled throughout the United States as part of U.S. State Dept of Education and Cultural Exchange Program to "observe the American scene, ideals and policies." Tupouto'a Tungi went on to become King Tāufaʻāhau Tupou IV of Tonga from 1965 until his death in 2006.
