Art exhibition, 1955
According to the Stuart News (10 Mar 1955), the Stuart Art Guild held a three day art exhibit in Beckman's Lot, next to the Martin County Hardware Co. store in early March 1955. Both professional and amateur artists displayed their art and over 1,000 people came through to view the exhibit. The Martin County Hardware Co. exterior wall is painted with advertisements for the store. Sign on the right identifies one of the participating artists as L. C. O'Brien and the artist's studio location at the Seminole Reptile Gardens, a tourist attraction to the south of Stuart on US 1. -
