Originally the McDonald Building at the corner of Akron and Joan Jefferson Way (Second Street), rebuilt in 1916 after a fire (1 January 1916) that destroyed several buildings in downtown Stuart. In 1930, Lizzie Ludwig Beyer (1882-1969) purchased the building and moved the Little Dixie Cafe from the Krueger Building into the building and it was then referred to as the Beyer Building. After the cafe was closed in 1946, son Charles Beyer started the Tradewinds Restaurant there in 1957.
