MCHS basketball team, 1950
Published in the Stuart News (14 Dec 1950, p. 14) with the caption: "Here is the Stuart Sailfishers town basketball team that will begin its 1950-1951 season with games here in the school gymnasium Saturday night at 8 and next Tuesday night at 8:30. This team of a season ago compiled an enviable 18-4 record and established itself as one of the State's leading independent clubs. However, seven of these 11 players are no longer here as a result of service calls or change in residence, and Capt. Edmund Howard must rebuild the current season's club around the remaining four. These include himself and Tom Crook, Vernon "Buck" Flowers and Bob Marley. This crack team of a season ago includes (left to right, kneeling) Reedy, Myers, Crook, Tad Callis, Robert Diamond, Bill Bonsavage, (standing) Jerry Cottom, Donald St. Onge, Marley, Howard, Flowers and Kenneth Sherman. -
