  • Two ads, one from the Stuart News (5 Nov 1915) and one full-page ad from the Stuart Times (25 Nov 1916), promoting Lincoln Park "for colored people." Ads describe the amenities of the development, including an Odd Fellow Lodge, two churches, paved streets, public school, and a restaurant. Former mayor Jackson Beauregard McDonald (1863-1948) was the sales manager for the development, which was the only area where African Americans were allowed to buy property.
