Published in Sandra Thurlow's book, Stuart on the St. Lucie (p. 119) with the caption: "Catherine Fallis Backus, a renowned sculptor before her health required her to leave Minnesota's harsh climate, settled on the south fork of the St. Lucie River with her husband George in 1911."
