Atlantic Court, c. 1940
Three views of the Atlantic Court Apartment Hotel in Stuart, including two interior views.
Originally named the El Bit-Lor Apartments, this building was built by Bert A. Bittan and John E. Taylor and opened in 1926. These nineteen lavishly built apartments were touted as one of the finest apartment buildings on the East Coast.
Following the end of the 1920s land boom and the 1933 hurricane, the building was repossessed in 1936 by the loan holder, Atlantic Bank, and renamed the Atlantic Court Apartments.

"Alligator Joe," Warren Frazee (1873-1915) operated an attraction near the gilded hotels of Palm Beach from the late 1890s until 1915. He also opened another attraction in Miami in 1906 and toured northern cities.
